Cecily Wang is an artist and author in Hawaii whose rhizomatic life is constantly fueled by curiosity, travel, and an unusually wide range of experiences.

She enjoys art and writing, and the creative stimulus they give her to explore an idea, an image, or simply follow something that catches her attention.  While her art spans a variety of styles, it most closely resembles abstract expressionism and neo-expressionism, celebrating a diverse range of colours, media, and intentions.  Her work captures raw moments and emotional currents in ways so simple as to be profound.

Travel is another dynamic part of her life, taking her to places around the world and introducing her to people, cultures, and experiences beyond the familiar.  Some of these moments she captures in pen strokes in her writing while others are reflected in brushstrokes on canvas.

Cecily’s life outside the studio has taken an equally remarkable path. She is an accomplished physician with extensive training in general surgery, trauma, and critical care medicine.  She holds professional commitments with multiple organizations, balancing a multitude of "jobs" in healthcare all at once.

Cecily brings openness, curiosity, and humanity to a life that is passionate about medicine, art, and writing and for the unexpected places and people each lead.
